The idea here is to highlight researchers whose work is being highly read. Some work may be read far more than it is cited.

We could track papers over time that are read using citeulike and Mendeley for individual researchers. This may be just a current snapshot, or if dates are available it could show the growing number of reads over time.

Citeulike also has a rating feature where readers can give paper one to five stars (a bit like IMDB or goodreads). So there is the possibility of creating a list of the top-rated papers.
