Dear Adnan and all contributors,
Thank you for providing the Displaylink-debian driver with installation script and detailed instructions.
I am a Windows veteran finally switching to Linux for several reasons.
I have two ASUS ZenBook Laptops UX305CA and UX434. Both Laptops work fine with ASUS Docking USB3.0 HZ-3A and an external Monitor connected via DVI to the Docking station when using Windows 10.
For this issue I concentrate on the older ZenBook UX305CA (8GB Ram) which is currently running Linux Mint 21.3 release Virginia.
First I tried to get the Docking to work by switching between Nvidia proprietary driver and open source nouveau driver with no success meaning the external monitor is not working (Bios secure boot is off and SATA mode set to AHCI).
Next I tried the DisplayLink driver. I downloaded and installed the Ubuntu driver from synaptics website and installed from Synaptics APT Repository with no error but also with no success - the external monitor remaining dark.
Finally (after spending two weeks in some linux mint forums) I got the hint to use the Displaylink-debian driver.
The installation was easy and finished without errors but after reboot the external monitor was still not working.
Next I followed the post installation guide (see attached debug information) which looks all fine for me.
Since it is an Intel graphics card I followed the different suggestions regarding the 20-displaylink.conf file followed by a reboot also with no success. The external monitor is not being detected.
I hope you can help me to get the monitor working. Without the second monitor the overall experience is very limited.
Let me know if you need more information e.g. on the docking station??
Please keep in mind I am Linux beginner. Thank you.
