What happened?

I was trying to create multiple single player worlds relatively quickly to compare different world spawns for different potential seeds for a server. (I don't know a better way to do this.) Upon a fresh start of the client, generating a new world works fine and takes only a few minutes in total. After leaving that world, trying to generate another new world will result in an out of memory error after having been frozen on the "Loading terrain" screen for more than 10 minutes. I found this unusual as I have as much memory assigned to the game as it will allow (12288 MB). In case this information is useful, I was setting these worlds to be Creative mode before generating them.
