I have installed blender 2.90.1 locally. However main scene does not load correctly. Player and skeleton avatars are missing.
Do you have any idea on how to fix that?

I had to migrate the project, since my Unity version is higher - 2021.1.7f1

At some point the read me needs updating but as time has gone on there are a few issues now. People have mostly commented / fixed on the YouTube videos, to answer your question you will want to look at the last section here:

1 month ago posted a solution to the configure being grayed out. "Just posting this for anyone else having the same issue that I had: If you can't press the "Configure" button at 0:50 because it's greyed out, even after you've hit "Apply,"
just change some of the settings in that area, then hit "Revert"
for me, once I reverted, it allowed me to press "Configure."

11 months ago posted a solution about motion fields not being seen. "In case anyone's having trouble around 3:05 - In 2018.3.5f1, I could not see the Motion fields right away;. You have to click on the Blend Tree node in the main window and then the correct fields show up in the Inspector. (It looks like it went there automatically in the version Sebastian is using, which is why I got a bit confused!)"

1 month ago posted a solution on why the animations aren't carrying over, and how to get them through blender. "- Solution to issue importing the player animations-
When you import the player to your assets, double click the player to open the file in blender. Once in blender, go to file -> export -> .fbx and you need to make sure the checkbox "All Actions" is selected. You can find that checbox on the right menu, at the bottom is a dropdown called "Bake Animations". Import that file on your project and you're ready to go :)"
