Verify whether yield estimates exist for CENSUS data #2
Comments
@ncparker / @blyeo, last week there was some discussion over whether yield data exists in the NASS Census data. I use a different little project to get NASS data. You can see in the readme for https://github.com/CSTARS/nass-summary, how I manually go about getting quickstats data as efficiently as I can. There are no yield data in these downloads. I have also tested by downloading only one commodity, and verifing no yield data exists. However, I do see that we do have production values, so I will see how closely these overlap with the acres values in the census data. |
@hitchpy sez, _Today in the meeting we want to gather area harvested information from NASS. So how do you get the yield data from NASS exactly? With BEANS having all the variants. _ This is the project where the summary data is combined. As you can see from the discussion, above, we are looking at expanding the NASS data to include all production data as well. |
@qjhart Hi Quinn, can we meet some time today or tomorrow to discuss about what still need to be done? Thanks |
