See this PR that is a stop-gap:
#6

basically it seems that when we pull dependencies from GitHub, there's a layer of caching or something that doesn't necessarily pull the latest version. We'll likely need to publish versions on either npmjs.com or perhaps even releases in GitHub, but the former is probably better.
