Non responsive New Game button / load time #772

When I hit New Game it always takes about 5-10 seconds to actually show the map. In the interim I can still interact with the Main Menu UI, i.e. it is not locked/no loading screen.

When I try this I can't interact with the buttons. What version is this happening in?

This only happens on windows because it takes forever to load the audio files. I don't know why it takes that long
