Ivar: Status update on credits with Azure/Oracle
- Contract almost ready for UGron
- Need to figure out afterwards what exactly to do with EESSI
- Other institutes will also start to get their contracts
- Oracle pushing for resource use already for May (not really feasible)
- Two year project
Current status of EESSI
- GPU update
  - Know what the issue with containers+GPU is, and have a plan on how to address it
  - Interesting for Azure because of ongoing work on Relion (which uses PyTorch)
- Pilot version 2023.04
  - Compatability layers have been built and ingested
  - Meeting tomorrow about what software we will include to start with
  - What toolchains?
    - Don't plan specific restrictions but practically we will probably stick to 2022 toolchains
ISC23
- Meeting last to prepare the EESSI talk/demo
- Eli (HPCNow) together with Cedric (Azure) will present
- Another meeting about this tomorrow
EB Tech Talk
- Cloud HPC talk from UK (Stefano from University of Bath) about moving completely to the cloud
Budget spending
- Still relatively low but is likely to increase soon with the new pilot
Ivar: When will lots of packages be available?
- Things will pick up with the new pilot
- Will probably hold off on large amounts of advertising until we move to the new domain (eessi.io)
  - Timeline unsure, but within a month or two
