Hello,

First of all thank you for this plugin, as the new official Yahoo Messenger App is not what we were used to and many of us don't even like it :)
Unfortunately I was unable to login to my Yahoo Messenger Account as I'm receiving "Unknown error" straight after enabling the account.
I tried with a wrong password and seems that it reacts correctly, throwing an error message accordingly.
Given these, I enabled the debug window and after matching the certificate I get the following output:

"(09:48:11) certificate: Successfully verified certificate for login.yahoo.com

Seems that the the same error is present on Windows XP and 7, with Pidgin installed or Portable, current release or the previous one, PC or laptop, from different public IP addresses and ISPs.
I would like to add that the two DLLs are each in their corresponding folder, one in the Plugins folder and the other in the Pidgin Root, as it was described in the tutorial.
Could you please preview the above log and let me know if we can find a fix or at least an workaround?

Thank you in advance for your support,
George

Do you use two-step-authentication? I think it might be complaining about that

Hello,

Indeed, I am using two-step-authentication.
I tried logging in with a generated app password, I even tried disabling "Allow apps that use less secure sign in", but it seems it won't accept my generated password as it throws the wrong password message.
It only gets past this step with my account password.
Is there currently any way to get by the two step authentication without disabling it?

Thank you,
George

It's a known issue. I tested the same features 2 weeks ago and neither of the two works. The plugin works only if 2FA is disabled and only with the main account password. For the time being I am no longer using YM but Google Hangouts.
