Markup, style, and script cleanup

The app used Evothings code as a boilerplate, which has been useful. However much of the code is suboptimal which can make it difficult to alter and to diagnose problems, so these steps may help:

• object renaming and redesign
• simplification
• restructuring files and directories
• removing unused code and libraries (see also Remove LocalFileSystem code #2)

Further refactoring and cleanup since mid 2016 has helped maintain sanity!
