I would like to have more characters available for displaying a message. It appears I need Dynamic PS to do this, but it appears the script disables Dynamic PS, so even if I set it from the RDS software the script overrides and turns it off. How can I modify this, or is there a better solution to accomplish my goal?

The EDM plugin only turns off Dynamic PS when it is installed or updated. After you have installed the plugin, you can re-enable Dynamic PS using TinyRDS and set a static message. Once set, the message will remain in memory after a power cycle. This is a once and done setting, as the message can not be changed unless you use the TinyRDS program to update the message. You will need to power off the EDM radio every time you install/reinstall/or update the EDM Audio plugin software after that. If the radio is powered off, it will not receive the command to turn off Dynamic PS. Once the EDM plug-in has been installed/updated you can turn the radio back on and it will not try to disable any longer. Worse case you will need to use TinyRDS to turn Dynamic PS back on and set the message again.

Dynamic PS in general is being phased out, because it can distract the driver driving down the road, but most people viewing light displays are not driving. With that said, Dynamic PS is not very reliable as many cars handle this setting differently. What works in one car will not work in another.
