HARDWARE: KULP 128D-B VER 1.1
FPP VER 8.1.3 Running ON BBB

I purchased this controller board back in March 2024. I had done minimal testing until NOV 2024. There are several issues I am having with this controller.

When playing a sequence after about 5 seconds the sequence freezes and becomes very choppy, then will not play further. In the Xlights Zoom Room we discovered hundreds of fppd.log files similar too:

  1. [ChannelOut] /opt/fpp/src/channeloutput/channeloutputthread.cpp:211: SLOW Output Thread: Loop: 10000us, Send: 29us, Read: 27670us, Process: 36376us, FrameNum: 199

Other issues I am having with the board are: When I am using controller buttons to navigate the B/Y OLED screen menus, I cannot play a sequence from the onboard controller playlist menu, when I select a specific sequence to play the screen reverts to the main menu and shows Player:Idle with the host name and etho address above. The only way I can get a sequence to play is using a web browser typing the controller IP address and accessing a song with FPP . Again the song plays for a few seconds then freezes.

The Third Issue I am having is when accessing the controller OLED Testing Menu and selecting a color to test, the displayed color on the lights is different than the color selected in the menu.
Selecting
Red- Displays Blue
Green - Displays Red
Blue- Displays Green

This wrong color is displayed only when using the controller interface, When using FPP Controller Outputs Kulp128D-B Pixel Strings Testing drop down menu, the correct colors display on all the props.

At the request of the Techs in the zoom room I am submitting this Bug Report for analysis. Attached are pictures of the OLED interface menus, and the corresponding light outputs of my display. Also attached is the FPPD.log files

Did you have any plugins installed? Run a K128 as well (new this year) and saw some lag in a few sequences tonight during my season opening show. Noticed the same type of log entries in my fppd.log file.

I have been watching the multisync page to monitor CPU % and see it spike up to 100% and stay there for a few seconds when nothing is playing. I had Pulsemesh installed to use for myself and my viewers who walk to see the lights, but I am wondering if the syncing on the FPP to keep in time with the web app is what caused the lag. I have uninstalled the plugin and am going to test the show again tonight. Will attach log files from before and after later tonight.
