There is no info in that ticket as to why this is an FPP problem. Please keep working with the xlights developers since you are having problems with an xlights feature.

The problem is regardless of the xLights issue I was able to bypass the password on FPP and upload sequences.

Thanks for the clarification, my understanding is that FPP password is simply for the UI, not all of the API etc.

FPP is designed for use on a network where the users are trusted and specifically not exposed directly to the Internet.

I have read that and understand it's not entirely hardened.

I guess my impression is the password would be required for any connections to the environment. If that's not the case then it's working as intended. Albeit unfortunate and I would instead turn this into a feature request (and I understand these types of requests are low priority).
