Affected app version

1.1.0

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 14 / GrapheneOS

Affected device model

Pixel 8

How did you install the app?

F-Droid / IzzyOnDroid

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Contacts are sync'd with Nextcloud via DavX5 and contain birthday and/or anniversary dates
  2. In Fossify Calendar, go to menu -> Add contact birthdays (or anniversaries)
  3. Press OK on the "Event reminders" dialog - changing options here has no effect on the outcome
  4. A Toast is shown indicating that no birthdays/anniversaries have been found

Expected behavior

Calendar should access Contacts regardless of their storage (except where steps have been taken to prevent such access, like private storage) and add the specified events.

Actual behavior

No events are added because the Contacts cannot be found.

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

Additional information

I suspect, but am not in a position to prove, that this might be related to the issues seen in the other apps regarding accessing Contacts that are not stored locally, for example:-
