As the title says, I use GNU Icecat and, thanks to the browser extensions, i saw that all the images are just linked to the original file.

I'd like that freshrss downloads the images and offer them to the client in order to avoid them to contact the news websites if not interested.

The way it is right now, it allows websites to log the visit and referal. This is bad for privacy.

I don't have a big mileage with Freshrss so sorry if this is possible but i just did not see it.

I've been looking for this but i haven't found it.

Thanks in advance.
Chip

I tried the images proxy extensions, but it just duplicates the image (the one coming from the proxy and the original). Also i would like to avoid running an image proxy for this, and obviously avoid using yet another online service that will just make my online footprint bigger.

Thanks in advance
Chip

Have you tried https://github.com/Victrid/freshrss-image-cache-plugin ?
See the readme there that explains how to setup an own cache server.

https://github.com/FreshRSS/Extensions/tree/master/xExtension-ImageProxy explains how to setup a simple proxy with Apache.

There is no need to have the caching/proxy in the core of FreshRSS and maintain it.
