  • Arch Linux
  • When choosing compiling settings cpu architecture, there's no cometlake (10th gen desktop) which i use, so i can't make it work on my pc because of that (i tried 4 times on intel_native, wasted almost 3 hours of my life)

Cometlake is Skylake. Weird that intel_native doesn't work though.

still gives bad return on 560 nvidia tkg drivers stage in the end, stuck on manufacturer logo

Nvidia not supporting newer kernels for weeks is usual and has nothing to do with CPU microarchitecture. 560 will not work on 6.12 and we don't have a patch for it. We have a patch for 565 though. But yeah, not a kernel issue.

im very new to arch and linux overall so didn't know such things, sorry haha

i will try updating to 565beta drivers when i get back home, if it works (im sure it will) i will close the issue

The alternative would be to use the newest LTS kernel, but I admit 6.6.y isn't that exciting compared to 6.12 😅

Did dkms succeed this time?
On Arch you don't want to fiddle with the defconfig option. Though it should be okay as long as the running kernel was 6.12.y at build time.

at build time kernel is 6.12, this time it didn't give bad return as before and everything installed correctly (at least i didn't see any errors)

Trying to figure out what could lead to this for you, since the break happens very early apparently.
In case you have secureboot active, disable it.
