It would be great to use gcsfuse in kubernetes, but the current ecosystem for using it requires building the Dockerfile and hosting the image somewhere private. This is a non-issue for larger orgs that already have their own defined private image registries, but for people using gcsfuse personally in k8s it can be. There are a number of gcsfuse images available on hub.docker.com but they all consistently have run into problems staying up to date with this one getting updated 5 years ago and that one 7 years.
I'm tempted to publish a public image to docker hub and keep it updated myself, but historically community supported images just atrophy into irrelevance. It would be great if google would be willing to take more ownership of gcsfuse and publish an image to docker hub or any public container registry.
I'd also love to just gauge community support on this one. If you guys would or wouldn't use a public image rather than building from source and hosting it yourself, give a 👍 or 👎
