Hack for a Cause Tech Volunteer Onboarding

Thanks for signing up for hack4cause! There are a few ways to volunteer and the big question is HOW and WHEN you would like to do so. When you fill out the volunteer onboarding form

HOW would you like to participate?

  • Tech Mentor - Wonder around and be helpful with git, code, etc.
  • Tech Judge - Thumps up the repos are pulled in on Sunday
  • Repo Wrangler - Setup repos, slack channels, moderate said. Before and durring the event
  • AV Geeks - work with teams to make good demos, run the projectors, audio checks etc. Friday night and/or Sunday morning

ALL onboarding paths follow the following steps:

  • Fill out the tech volunteer onboarding form so we get a few more details
  • Edit your slack profile and add "(tech)" to your name so folks have context for your chatter
  • Get to know the Challenge, Teams, and Repos Airtable Base

WHEN would you like to participate and when?

  • Tech Mentor - fill in the schedule friday thru Sunday
  • Tech Judge - sort-of codereview the repos on Sunday
  • Repo Wrangler - Jump into the #tech-repo-wranglers slack channel and grab from the issues list. If you are attending the event as a tech mentor add yourself to the schedule
  • AV Geeks - Show up Friday night and/or Sunday morning, there are spots on the schedule
