kabaddiPy Project Code of Conduct

Welcome

Welcome to the kabaddiPy repository! This project is a Python module that provides tools for collecting and analyzing data from professional Kabaddi leagues. Using web scraping techniques, kabaddiPy gathers information about teams, players, and match statistics from various online sources. Our goal is to build a positive and collaborative community that enables contributors to enhance data-driven analysis in the world of professional Kabaddi. We are committed to creating a welcoming and harassment-free environment for all participants.

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in kabaddiPy a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Our Standards

Unacceptable Behavior:

  • Harassment: Harassment, including inappropriate comments, personal attacks, or unwelcome advances, is strictly prohibited.
  • Discrimination: Discriminatory behavior based on personal identity, beliefs, or background will not be tolerated.
  • Disrespect: Trolling, dismissive remarks, or inflammatory comments that disrupt the project’s goals are not acceptable.
  • Privacy Violations: Sharing others’ personal information without their explicit consent is not allowed.
  • Unethical Conduct: Engaging in behavior that misuses the project’s resources, violates ethical standards, or promotes misinformation.
  • Disruption: Actions that disrupt the collaborative nature of the project or interfere with others' contributions will not be tolerated.

Project Goals

The kabaddiPy project focuses on providing a comprehensive set of tools for collecting and analyzing data from professional Kabaddi leagues. The primary goals of the project are:

  • Data Collection: Using web scraping techniques to gather detailed information about Kabaddi teams, players, and match statistics from reliable online sources.
  • Data Analysis: Providing easy-to-use tools that help users analyze and visualize Kabaddi data, enabling deeper insights into match performances, player statistics, and team strategies.
  • Enhancing the Kabaddi Community: Encouraging collaboration from data scientists, sports analysts, and Kabaddi enthusiasts to improve the tools and enhance data-driven understanding of the sport.

Enforcement Responsibilities

Community leaders and maintainers of the kabaddiPy project are responsible for enforcing this Code of Conduct. They are expected to:

  • Clearly define acceptable behavior and ensure that all community members are aware of the standards.
  • Address any reported violations of the Code of Conduct in a timely and fair manner.
  • Take appropriate corrective actions, including removing comments, posts, or contributions that violate the standards.
  • Apply disciplinary measures, such as temporary or permanent bans, for individuals who repeatedly or seriously violate the Code of Conduct.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all spaces managed by kabaddiPy, including GitHub repositories, issue trackers, discussions, and other communication platforms. It also applies when community members are representing the project in public spaces, such as conferences, online events, or forums.

Reporting Violations

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, you may report it by contacting the community leaders at [email protected] or [email protected]. All complaints will be handled confidentially, and appropriate action will be taken to address any reported incidents.

We encourage all members of the community to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment by reporting unacceptable behavior.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

If a community member is found to have violated this Code of Conduct, the community leaders may take the following actions:

  1. Correction: A private conversation with the individual to clarify the violation and provide guidance for improving behavior.
  2. Warning: A formal warning that outlines the unacceptable behavior and future expectations.
  3. Temporary Suspension: A temporary suspension from participation in the project or community spaces, with the possibility of reinstatement after review.
  4. Permanent Ban: Permanent removal from the project and all community spaces for repeated or egregious violations.

Enforcement Guidelines

Community leaders will follow these enforcement guidelines when determining consequences for violations of this Code of Conduct:

  1. Correction:

    • Community Impact: A minor violation that causes minimal disruption.
    • Consequence: A private conversation to clarify the violation and offer guidance for improvement.

  2. Warning:

    • Community Impact: A moderate violation that disrupts the positive and collaborative environment of the project.
    • Consequence: A formal warning, with clear expectations for future behavior.

  3. Temporary Suspension:

    • Community Impact: A significant violation that harms the community or the integrity of the project.
    • Consequence: Temporary suspension from participating in the project or contributing to discussions.

  4. Permanent Ban:

    • Community Impact: A severe or repeated violation that undermines the project’s goals and community values.
    • Consequence: Permanent removal from the project and all related spaces.
