The initial voting period for a proposal is 7 days, configurable via governance. However, the leadership role has the ability to upload an emergency type proposal, allowing it to be passed instantly should a majority of the chain votes yes. This ensures faster chain upgrade times in case of an emergency. If a majority is not achieved within the 7 day period, the proposal will still act as a normal proposal.

This fast-track ability can also be delegated to a DAO, enabling multi-key holders to collectively decide to expedite a proposal.

The normal quorum requirement remains in effect. Validator votes are excluded from this type of proposal by default unless it is not passed by the default proposal expiration date (7 days), In which case the normal rules apply at expiration.
