Hello @N-thony, @Patowhiz and @rdstern,

I am starting to work on the help regarding our save system. I started with the View Graph Dialog as I believe this is where people would go to save graphs stored from their session. (Please correct me if I am wrong.) However when I use the View Graph dialog I find that the R-Viewer option is always disabled. I thought that the R Viewer gave the most save options, in terms of file type (eg: Png, Tiff, PDF, Jpeg...).

So my questions are:

  1. Why is it disabled? Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?
  2. If it is meant to be disabled then what should the save process be for stored graphs?
  3. Are there other ways that Stored graphs should be accessed and used?
  4. Can anyone clearly explain the uses of the Interactive viewer Plotly? I currently have "Where you can zoom in and/or examine interactive elements of the graph." which feels a bit vague?

Thanks,

Rachel

@rachelkg, those are good questions! Let me address the parts I’ve been involved with:

Regarding the R Viewer, we’ve been discouraging its use because scrolling within its window can cause the entire R-Instat application to crash. @rdstern can attest to the frustrations this has caused during training sessions. As a workaround, we disabled the R Viewer, hoping that the issue will be resolved once we upgrade the underlying technologies. However, you can still access the R Viewer through the "Last Graph" shortcut.

For saving outputs, we recommend using our custom maximised window, which supports saving any output in compatible formats. This provides a more reliable option for saving files.
