Possibly an issue with the current versions of ImageMagick with Ghostscript. Slack Conversation explain how multiple people are likely experiencing this.

I'm going to expand this to most of the other derivative types as well. Mainly because I'm not sure if this is isolated to just houdini. I don't think so.

There does seem to be a link with "latest" vs "3.4.0". Switching to this cleared up some issues for me.
