Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently only the old Date API is supported which comes with a lot of issues

Describe the solution you'd like
Support for LocalDate, LocalDateTime, etc.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Currently there is a hotfix in place that allows to set the timezone in the annotation (see: #22)

Additional context
This is not a concrete feature request yet and needs more discussion.
