Fix project tests

Project tests have broken after some recent changes. I first encountered errors when using v2.38.0, but maybe the problems started before that. Some efforts to fix them were made in v2.39.0 (see #3), but some parts of the tests were still broken and had to be partially commented.

This is a low priority issue as tested features seem to work fine; only tests themselves are broken.
