Is it possible to add quincunx bases to obtain nonseparable transforms? Separable 2D transforms have directional-amplification artifacting. (I have not been able to get a handle on the rotation maths for this, so I don't know if this is even possible with the J code.) For example... https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/13507-lisq-a-toolbox-for-the-lifting-scheme-on-2d-quincunx-grids
