When I destroy the object, the new fractured mesh doesn't have texture.
Under what type does this occur? From what I see all of the different types should preserve the original material. I will look further into this once I start using this on my project but I don't see any immediate issues which would cause this.
This issue is now occuring in one of my meshes. It seems to have something to do with how godot duplicates the material. Posted a help question here, which if unresolved will likely get put into an issue request. https://godotforums.org/d/33776-duplicated-material-turns-white
