This Flip-dot project looks awesome! Any chance you have a more detailed schematic or PCB layout you would be willing to share? The idea of using the ws2811 is great! How has it worked for you so far?

Hello MikeBeradino,
thanks for your nice comment! Yes it's working well. I did not had much time to go further, but this weekend I made a short video for you where you can see two cascading pcbs( https://youtu.be/ZCjcpKwgIRs). I have to make a nice enclosure with better cable management... Also I broke some pcbs in the beginning because of stupidly confusing the 5V and 12v pins.....So I do not have much pcbs left, which were quite expensive to produce by the way. Double sided assembly with 6 layers....In the video you can hear my 3d printer producing some frame for the display. So I hope I will find some time to go on. So please stay tuned and a little patient. When I do some further testing I will certainly update the project and share the idea.

Looks so good! I've recently gotten my hands on 4 16*28 brose panels. Thinking about desoldering them and using this schematic to create my own pcb. Glad to see this is working well for you. What's your pixel diameter? I feel like mine are a little bigger but not entirely sure, would mean more room on the pcb.

Nice! Thanks for the up date and the video! I have a few pcbs on the way based off of the ws2811, I am not sure if the design will scale. I will post a video if there is any success with my project. I look forward to your update!@

@louis-lau Hi, they have a diameter of 8mm .
@MikeBeradino Happy seeing your version soon!

@MKdent Thank you! Had to pull the ones I got a while ago out of storage to measure them, and it looks like they're 15 mm. So we'll see if I have an easier time whenever I find the time to work on this 😁
