Clarification on compiling documentation

Compiling directions states that one should clone the repo and then launch compilation. Github allows to download the zip file of the repo, which I did.
Then compiling failed : submodules were missing.

I deleted the downloaded files and cloned the repo. Then compiling worked.
I suggested adding in the readme that downloading the zip file will not work.

You compiled without unzipping or am I understanding that wrong? Is the file list different if you clone vs download from zip?

Sorry, I was not accurate enough.
I downloaded from https://github.com/MYSTRANsolver/MYSTRAN_Releases/tree/main/15.1.1/Source and unzip.
