Preprints

All lab members are encouraged to post preprints prior to journal submission. There are just a few things to remember:

  • Some journals either do not allow preprints or count it against new submissions. Check your intended journal's submission requirements to ensure that you don't shoot yourself in the foot.
  • Preprints should be posted before submission to the journal (preferably right before). You cannot incorporate changes made in response to reviewers into your preprint.
  • Lab members generally post to bioRxiv.
