What is the process type?

Measure

Measurand

Pressure sensitivity (ratio of dynamic output voltage to dynamic pressure), typically expressed as a logarithmic level quantity relative to 1 V/Pa.
The measurement capability (primary calibration via reciprocity method ISO 61094-2) is traceable to fundamental physical quantities:

  • AC voltage
  • Length (Dimensions of microphone and couplers)
  • Capacitance (reference capacitance for transfer impedance)
  • Mass (air density)
  • Temperature
  • Frequency
  • Time
  • Pressure (static pressure)

Nominal sensitivity is measured at 23 degrees Celcius. Sensitivity is not a parameter of the measurement capability, only the measured quantity of the measurand.
The dimension of the microphone is the more relevant parameter, corresponding to the geometry of two types of standard laboratory microphones (LSP1 and LSP2).
Microphones have a frequency range, uncertainties are reported for a particular frequency.
Calibration does not depend on reference values, corrections can be applied.
