@Tveten, it would be great if we could use skchange in the upcoming conference season for presentations around sktime.
The way it would be presented:

  • clearly attributed with credit to you and Nork Regnesentral
  • always compatible with your current license BSD-3 which is permissive subject to attribution
  • as a 2nd party package similar to prophetverse is discussed in notebook 4 of this presentation https://github.com/sktime/sktime-tutorial-euroscipy2024
  • to demonstrate the types of estimators for which no, or no performant examples exist in sktime, e.g., anomaly segment detectors
  • not as part of commercial advertising or any event that could be construed business related

We would also like to add the estimators with placeholders so they appear in a new anomaly/changepoint themed section of the estimator search:
https://www.sktime.net/en/latest/estimator_overview.html

of course we are happy for you to maintain the integration code, or even drive the design of base classes in sktime proper, although we are aware that shorter notice involvement might not be compatible with your stated holiday and work commitment schedule that you communicated (returning to this topic after mid-September).

Feel free to use skchange as you describe in sktime presentations.

It's also great that you want to add it to the estimator search.

For now I won't have time to do any development in sktime proper due to other responsibilities, but I hope to stay aligned with your developments and contribute with discussions.
