It is not possible to identify a link that has an SVG image defined, you could create a filter of if you have svg in the string or URL, ignore and send without image.

I don't quite get the problem. The webpage has returned the svg data as it's image source right? Once you get the response you can just filter it yourself if the calling code does not support it.
