For many languages, it is easy to find in the internet lists of the most commonly used words in that language. By integrating (building in) these lists into Mind The Word, we could allow the user to restrict the translations to these common words. This might be particularly helpful for beginners, who want to focus on easy and common words.

@ceilican Any chance that this has already been implemented?

Or are you looking for a more refined feature here?

Here I mean something different.

Instead of requiring the user to input a list of user-defined translations, the idea would be allow him to configure MTW to always translate, for example, the 1000 most common nouns, without having to input this long list. The list would have to be fetched from somewhere or included in MTW's distribution.

This is not an easy feature to implement in a simple and maintainable way. If you have good ideas in this respect, I would be eager to her them.
