Describe the Bug

Parappa the Rapper 2 crashes the entire emulator at seemingly random times on an M1 Macbook Air. The crash report notes section says "PC register does not match crashing frame", if that helps. The game runs at a consistent 60fps otherwise, so I'm not sure what's causing this. Whenever the crash happens, i am on Stage 6 and i go to the 'Bad' rating.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Open Parappa
  2. Go to stage 6
  3. Go into 'Bad' mode

Expected Behavior

I was expecting nothing to happen.

This game is highly sensitive to VIF1 timing. Have you tried delay VIF1 stalls? Or messing with the clock speed?

No, not yet. I will try that.

No, not yet. I will try that.

For delay VIF1 stalls, right click the game, click properties, then game fixes.

For the clock speed, click settings, then emulation.

Can you try launching PCSX2 with NSZombieEnabled=YES /Applications/PCSX2-v2.1.236.app/Contents/MacOS/PCSX2 and see if that makes the crashes more consistent? Try uploading the crash log from one of those runs.

I couldn't get it to crash with that option enabled for some reason.
