Probable update to netatalk 2.x #59
Comments
I was told that netatalk 2.2.5 was "bad" for Apple II users. I asked what didn't work. The answer I got was that it wasn't that it didn't work, it was just "less good".
I'm not sure why we aren't using 2.2.5 now. And I have no objection to 2.2.6.
It's one of many things that is apparently known but not anywhere I've found. Unless it's not known in which case one person has heard it from another who heard it from another who heard from still another that they couldn't get it set up.

At https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/topic/3236-appletalkagain/&page=2 there's the related discussion, but I don't know where to find the patches (I suppose you guys know where to look for them).
I'm not a programmer so I can't judge whether the fixes are relevant for A2SERVER. Just wanted to direct your attention to this.

One of the reasons we're not using 2.2.5 now is because it doesn't compile
out of the box on Debian. That was good enough for me. I feel as though
there may have been other issues too but I forget what they were, and 2.2.4
seemed to work.
