I was rejected by Aha! after being a CTO at an agency for 8 years because I couldn't explain how database indexes are actually implemented. I don't blame them.

Now I work for Clearbit, and I'm the host of a successful podcast that talks about dealing with experiences like rejection. (Don't have to include it, but the podcast is Developer Tea.)
