Would it be possible to Autodetect the AV_SYNC_TYPE?

Because If I have selected AV_SYNC_TYPE_VIDEO, for some files I receive choppy 
sound, the same file plays smoothly If I select AV_SYNC_TYPE_AUDIO and 
viceversa.
