List of suggestions from the census crew to happen before the next recensus. These will also be discussed further before being implemented into the data

  • Remove things that have been Dead not found (DN) for three censuses
  • Populate forward WR code from previous censuses, and if "WR" or "wire removed" comment, add WR code.
  • Populate forward TR code from previous censuses, and if "TR" or "tag removed" commend, add TR code.
  • Remove TR and stems for next data to make the field map
  • Include 2023 comments in the field app for the next census/next mortality survey (for certain quadrats this will be super necessary!)
  • Change species (comment is usually “species is not ___ is ____”, where ___= species code, or "species is __ is not __"
  • Add status G to multi stems where the first stem is dead but there are other stems
  • For dead trees (DS, DC or DN), include the last measured DBH

Before the Next Census SCBI .docx
We are adding a file in the doc folder under data cleaning called "Before the Next Census" that summarizes these things as well as things that need to happen in the field as well
