Outside of column 1 we found just three occurrences of an opposite pattern where secondary stems had the correct quadrat and stem 1 was incorrect.

There are just three trees outside of column 1 that need their quadrats to be manually corrected:

  1. Tree 33561: Correct quadrat= 330, stem 1 is incorrect, secondary stems are correct. Stem 1 needs to be assigned quadrat 330
  2. Tree 53854: Correct quadrat = 515, stem 1 needs to be corrected to quadrat 515
  3. Tree 53855: Correct quadrat = 515, stem 1 needs to be corrected to quadrat 515

Looking into this now. What makes you think that secondary stems have the correct quadrat for those?

Looking at the old data, all stems have the same quadrats and correspond to stem1.

The correct quadrats are as follows:

  • 33561: 0329
  • 53854: 0513
  • 53855: 0513

So secondary stems must have been accidentally edited in the app. Please @Iriskennedy, change in app and re-upload.

@ValentineHerr the way we checked these was seeing which quadrat the point was physically in on the ipads, and that was identified as the correct quadrat. For example tree 33561 is physically in quadrat 330 but for some reason stem 1 still says 329. I think they are points that were mapped incorrectly in the past, and we moved them this census. Unfortunately I do not have an ipad with me currently, @rmh24 would you be able to double check this?

Thanks for clarification @Iriskennedy.

All these stems were recruited in 2018 in the quadrats I mentioned above. The ones in 0513 have coordinates in the center of the quadrats, so I don't understand how there could be confusion.
The tree in 0329 has coordinates closer to 0328 than 0330.

It would be worth checking those trees in the field.

@Iriskennedy We checked the points on the iPad, and all three have comments saying that they were mapped in the wrong quadrat (with 33561 even stating quadrat 330 was the correct one). We're fairly certain that the secondary stems have the correct quadrat, but I will verify in the field the next time I'm out there.

@ValentineHerr Krystal and I checked these three trees in the field and confirmed that the correct quadrats are 330 and 515. There were instances where in the past they just mapped things in the wrong quadrats and possibly mixed up north and south and these are one of those instances.
