General Ideas

• Connect to some common databases, allowing gene and protein sequences to be automatically imported from PDB or GenBank
  • Reqwest supports WASM! Same code should work on web and on desktop!
  • There is also the iGEM registry
• Build in a history / scratchpad window (for saving and recalling previous results between sessions)
• In addition to the main "Sequence Analysis" tool (inspired by CyberChef), there should be more interactive tools with different, purpose-build UIs for popular workflows (like primer design)
  • You should, however, be able to click on any sequence in any workflow and "Open in Sequence Analysis"

Code Performance & Style

• Parallelism on native machines and WASM looks possible with Rayon, but might be a bit of a pain until things mature a bit
• If I want to make a SubSeq type at some point that holds a slice to the original sequence, I can "share" methods between the two types using the delegate crate. That's probably much more efficient than copying things all of the time...
