Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Been using SkyTube Extra, for about 2 years. I've noticed a growing trend towards MaterialYou UI themes and Dark Mode in Android Video and Media Player applications. While SkyTube offers a great open-source YouTube client experience, adopting these modern design elements would significantly enhance user experience and align with current Android design standards.

Describe the solution you'd like

I propose that SkyTube implement a MaterialYou UI theme that seamlessly integrates with the user's device settings. This would include a dynamic theming system that adapts to light and dark modes, as well as support for Android 15's new features and design guidelines. Additionally, ensuring compatibility with Android 15 devices, including smartphones, tablets, and foldables, would guarantee a smooth and consistent experience for viewing YT videos across various form factors.

Describe alternatives you've considered

While I appreciate the current design of SkyTube, it's important to stay up-to-date with evolving Android design trends. Implementing MaterialYou and Dark Mode would not only provide a more modern and visually appealing interface but also enhance accessibility and battery life.

Additional context

  • Chromecast support
  • Try a adding system-wide picture-in-picture to video player. Video will hover over apps and can be adjusted in size or collapsed into the side of the display to continue playing in the background. (Perfect when watching YouTube Music Videos / YouTube Livestreams etc).

What do you think about the new material overflow/floating up top subscribe button in channels, that shows on top of 3 other buttons, which can't be accessed anymore ?
If it bothers you as it does me, pls. consider opening another issue ticket about it. Thank You in advance.
