Not only is the built in OSK so basic as to be pretty useless (eg no number keys without using shift) but also it doesn't work with the pen - approaching the keyboard with the pen dismisses it. Doh!
Fortunately there is an alternative which works with Gnome 46 as supplied with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Find it here: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5949/gjs-osk/
You might find it easiest to install gnome-shell-integration and gnome-browser-connector in your browser first (also from extensions.gnome.org)
I have more comments about the noddy physical keyboard supplied with the V (what a crock of dog poo) and more in a longish blog post here: https://blog.crosborne.uk/starlitev-first-impressions. Some of this merits further discussion here. Overall I am pretty disappointed, I rather have had a new Mk IV but they'd all gone and this sounded like a good idea back last summer.
