The caves and such showing through the blending is caused by the way the blending currently works. I need to rework the blending use another layer for mixing the colors. This is planned.
Also, for others reading: Distant Horizons doesn't have zoom mod support yet, that's something that needs to be fixed on their side as well to avoid overdraw prevention issues when zooming.

This mod works ok by default, but if zooming feature from a mod like Zoomify is used, rendering of Blendium breaks.
