I like the suggestion, specially because I think that the information in the original version is repeated in the following code block. The updated version goes to the point. I know that the discussion is not about this subject, but I think that the "take note" part sounds a bit weird and it barely adds to the exercise. We should be more intentional about the information that we want the student to note. For example:

Will this work everywhere? No. Sometimes we need to go the whole hog, but I've seen many occasions where this does work, and so far haven't seen any down sides.
Generally speaking, instead of "Use the
whatever
command to view thesomething
status", just write "View thesomething
