Few things on the table:

What is the reward?

  • discord roles?
  • achievements?
  • points?

What are the tasks?

  • end of lesson surveys
  • student solution reviews
  • signin up?
  • linking github account?

Who is doing it?

  • opt-in only?
  • extended for opt-in with small randomized offerings for regular students?

Other details?

i like points and achievements mainly for completing lessons and submitting projects....

could also grab the github API and give special achievements for certain numbers of commits or something... though that can obviously be gamed.

Also like rewarding feedback and reviewing other student solutions.. but IMO the main way of gaining points should be completing your own work.

Could also tie in the chat-points as well 🤔

The added benefit of this is that we'd have a way to link users to their discord usernames and make it harder to ban-dodge. As well as allowing another bot command to get their github profile if they allow it (as a user configured setting)
