Suggestion: More memorable name #2
Comments
Thank you for your interest in the project. Ya, make sense. I know that naming something is always a difficult task :). Occasionally, I follow the emacs-devel mailing list and see RMS frequently complaining about the names of packages. 😆 I also want to find an interesting name for the package, but I want it to describe a little bit about its functionality (possibly implicitly) rather than being an unrelated name. If you have any good ideas for the package name, I'm open to listen. I will think a new name too. |
I've just been thinking some name to change. And provide a function to run tasks on Some name I was thinking:
@alphapapa What do you think? |
Well, I'd also suggest, if you haven't already, carefully looking at the list of packages on MELPA, because I'm pretty sure there are several that are similar in purpose. |
Ya, you're right. I think this package could be a function in a useful function collection like the crux package. It should be a personal package for me instead of a package for people. Anyway, it was born, perhaps I will call it Thank you for paying attention and giving me advice. |
Hi,
This looks like an interesting project. Quick suggestion: the name "project-tasks" is, IMHO, completely forgettable. I won't be able to remember it next week, and if I were to do a Web search for it, it would be very hard to find again. Of course, there are people who think a purely descriptive name like this is ideal, but IMHO, names are not descriptions, and descriptions are not names. This not to say that you should necessarily aim for just catchy or cutesy names (as some of my projects might seem to have), but if a name doesn't aid memory or search, it will likely doom its project to obscurity.
My two cents. Keep up the good work. :)
