Hello! I am just a lowly sediment lab person at the USGS, but was looking at the Flood Inundation Mapper and had a small suggestion for increasing the readability of the map/key, and am curious of how hard it would be to code such a thing (Limited/Minimal coding understanding).
On the FIM, when you add the Flood Watches and Warnings category, there's like literally 100 different colors and all similar shades. Would it be possible to make clicking the area on the map in question pop up a small dialogue box that tells you what the warning actually is? This would be good for normal people, since the colors are so close. And for color blind people who might have even harder trouble differentiating all the shades.
Thank you in advance for any reply, I enjoy looking at all the information services we offer as the USGS and just thought it might be worthwhile to email.
