This is our meta-issue that can track our work for Spring 2023 VHP.

Curation Wizard

Goal: To make curating an easier experience by guiding curators through questions in the browser, generating the necessary YML for them.

Improved Data Version Tracking

Goal: To publicly show what version of the data and the website is currently deployed, for better citation and debugging

Tracking:

• Add data version info to the footer #971
• Issue 971 data version footer #1027
• Modify lib/data_builder.rb to have a step early in the build that will add in the version information. #1029
• Update Zenodo workflow for monorepo #1021

"What's New" Functionality

Goal: Show visitors of the website what is new and when a given data point was last updated

Interactive Glossary

Goal: Visitors to the website should be able to learn about various keywords that appear throughout curations.

Tracking:

• Glossary of security terms, put in VHP-flavored markdown #544

Tag Trends Visualization

Goal: Visitors can discover trends by finding tags that overlap with the same vulnerabilities

Tracking: tag-trends Related to the Tag Trends visualization

Project Timeline Visualization

Goal: Visitors can see what the history of a project looks like by aggregating vulnerability information over a timeline.

Tracking: TBD. No issues written yet.

Find Me Something To Curate

Goal: Curators can find an uncurated vulnerability to get started quickly.

Tracking:

OpenAPI documentation/specification

Goal: Document and specify our RESTful API in a maintainable, standard way.

Tracking:

• Document & test API using OpenAPI standard #956

Take a Tour

Goal: Provide a more concrete call-to-action from the front page to guide people through the museum.

Mobile Compatibility

Goal: To make vulnerabilityhistory.org work on a variety of screen sizes

Cross-Browser Compatibility

Goal: To make vulnerabilityhistory.org work on the main browsers of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. (Safari and others are not high priority.)

v8.0 Data Set

Goal: To update the data set with Spring 2023-current data.

New Look and Feel

Goal: Adopt a new look and feel based on marketing mock-ups
