Using Quark's Soul Bead freezes the game

Soul Beads are items added by the Quark mod that point in the direction of the nether fortress when used.
I created a 1.18.2 modpack with just Quark and they work correctly, but if Better Fortresses is also present, using it makes the game freeze.
I suspect it's because the bead is looking for minecraft:fortress when it should be looking for betterfortress:fortress.
