Gives the error:
clang-11: error: the clang compiler does not support '-march=native'

Hi Anjali,
Perhaps try pip3 install wmd. I haven't encountered this exact error before but running with a different pip version fixed a different error when I just tried installing it locally on my Mac. These links might also be helpful: link 1, link 2.

Hi Alex -I tried suggestions in both links and the pip3 install from git link, but none worked. What are your Mac env details? My MacOS is Big Sur (v11.2) and running with Python v3.8.2. Wonder if that's what causes the wmd install issues?

Sorry for the delay! My MacOS is Mojave (v10.14.6) with Python v3.7.3. Please let me know if you were able to fix this issue.
